Changing it Up = Monthly

New format and new timing

Change

I spent some time thinking more about this newsletter and all the great people that have subscribed. How to balance life and work when they blend together on so many levels? Evolve and modify until it works better, so I’m modifying the timing on this to send out monthly. Changing the format to hopefully make it more interesting for you out there. It started to feel like more promotional and less conversational. I realized that the value of this is to have a more intimate conversation, beyond announcing stuff and pointing you to my website.

I hope you enjoy the new mode, and hopefully we can continue the conversation here and in person in the coming months.

Upcoming Adventures… Join me

40 miles and 15 dams…. One old dam in Milton Mills on the Salmon Falls (Newichawannock) River.

A few years ago Mike Morin and I paddled from our neighborhood to the Ocean on the Saco River. We’ve been trying to do similar paddle trips every year. The Pleasant River, Sandy River, and next up Salmon Falls River Newichawannock in Abanaki. That translates to “water of many falls”. I’m thinking it will take about 3 days, and I plan to break it up and do a day here and there throughout the spring and summer, and maybe cap it off with a day of paddling out into Great Bay. The best part of our trips so far have been the people that joined us, so drop me an email and join the fun. Dates TBD at the moment and we have some flexibility.

New project - Outdoor-Talent.com

Yes, it’s an announcement…. Super excited to work with my son, Alex, on this project. We created a web platform to gather talented outdoor athletes for photo shoots and video projects. So far we’ve got climbers, fly fishing anglers, trail runners and many more. If you’re interested in being part of this and getting in front of the camera head over to www.outdoor-talent.com and join our community of talented talent….

Dusting One Off - Into the Archive

August 10, 2009. Acadia National Park

Living in the mountains makes you really appreciate the ocean when you get to spend some time around it. Over the years I’ve got to work, and play in lots of different places along the coast but one of my favorites is Mount Desert Island and Acadia. Looking forward to some vacation time up in Bar Harbor this summer and few projects out on the water in the Gulf of Maine. For a dive back in time check out this day out on a lobster boat out of Rockport. A lobsterman and his niece and nephew were nice enough to let me tag along one perfect morning: Maine Lobstering - Rockport, ME

If you’ve read this far send me a note. I’d love to hear your thoughts and ideas for more projects, other orgs out there, and adventures you’re doing or planning.
